FLU Warning!

I have to express my frustration with the Pharmaceutical industry that spends millions on advertising, pushing and touting the greatness of its Flu vaccine, in spite of its own wording.
Here are some side effects from GlaxoSmithKlines FLULAVAL flu vaccine for the 2011-12 season:
“Adverse events during post-approval use of FLULAVAL: Lymphadenopathy; Eye pain, Dysphagia, vomiting; Chest pain, injection site abscess, bruising, inflammation and rash; influenza-like symptoms, abnormal gait; Allergic edema of the mouth/throat, anaphylaxis; Rhinitis, laryngitis, cellulitis; Muscle weakness, arthritis;Dizziness, paresthesia, hypoesthesia, tremor, Guillain-Barré syndrome, convulsions/seizures, facial or cranial nerve paralysis, encephalopathy, limb paralysis; Insomnia; Hives, localized or generalized rash, itching;Dyspnea, dysphonia, bronchospasm, throat tightness"
“There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.”
"It is not known whether FLULAVAL is excreted in human milk…caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman"
Pediatric Use Safety and effectiveness of FLULAVAL in pediatric patients have not been established.
And the one that truly takes the cake...“there have been no controlled trials adequately demonstrating a decrease in influenza disease after vaccination with FLULAVAL”
It's time to return to the use of common sense and logic and practice true prevention. This time of year we become more susceptible to the "Flu" and "colds" because we generally do little to prepare our bodies for the change of season and to keep our immune systems strong. There are little to no UVB rays from the sun for us to make sufficient levels of Vitamin D3 that greatly enhances immune function; we do not move around as much (ie walk, exercise, do outdoor activities); we eat more comfort foods (sugary, fatty immune supressors); our back-to-school schedules are changed and holidays come up and we are all out of sorts, including poor sleep patterns...
My recommendations:
It's time to supplement with Vitamin D3 (at least 500 units/day for kids and 2000 units/day for adults...most people could use 1000/5000), drink some apple cider to help the gall bladder that will be detoxifying/cleansing, get 7-9 hours of sleep, drink plenty of water, have some herbal tea, move, move, move...walk/exercise, make time to de-stress with a chiropractic adjustment, massage, breathing, yoga, meditation, etc, eat lots of fruits and veggies and cut down the sugary foods!
